Extreme Makeover Card Edition #1

Welcome to the first release of Extreme Makeover Card Edition!
I used a set of cards that had a little window cut-out with a monogram inside...but not for long!

I stamped 2 each of the 4 phrases in the Back2Basics set from The Stamps of Life and then punched them out with a scalloped circle punch by Marvy.

After applying a great 'foundation' stamp, this card eagerly awaits a visit to 'makeup' {also known as ribbon, bling and glitter}

So many fun ideas in mind to bring out the 'beauty' in these already 'lovely' cards!

The 'Makeup Bag'

Ready for the 'Runway'!

Ready for their time to 'sparkle' under the bright lights...
A touch of glitter around the frame and a cute little pearl.

Glitter and Bling!

Used the window as an anchor for the ribbon.

A single touch of bling and a sweet trail of glitter.

Glitter and Bling on EVERY flower center...such joy!

A few bling and bow with a hint of glitter and this card is ready to 'work it'!

'Beautiful in Blue Bling' and the "hi" is 'kissed' with Glitter.

One more 'Glitter kissed' and flower blinged "hi" with a 'pretty' pink bow and bling.

Even the Envies take 'center stage' in this makeover...also used the Back2Basics stamp set from The Stamps of Life.

What a show stopper these beauties are!  All ready to be tied up in a bow and given as a gift card set...or even tuck them in your own stash of cards.  Be sure and stay tuned for another Extreme Makeover Card Edition coming soon!

Give a Hoot!

Owls seem to be everywhere these days. I just love how cute they are and the big variety of styles they incorporate.  My daughter was working on an American Girl craft project (an owl pillow, of course) and it gave me the inspiration to create this cute Fay-vor...Tootie Hootie!

This cute little pouch fits a full size Hershey bar just perfect!

You could even tuck in a note and some cash or a gift card for a truly Sweet & Simple gift sure to get a "HOOT" out of "who"-ever you share it with.  I actually used the pattern pieces from the pillow kit as templates for making this cute pouch.  Have owls inspired you lately?  ScrapCraft a "hoot" of a project today!

Thanks So Much!

Do we ever say it enough?  I know I could be better at saying this simple phrase and more than that, sending a Sweet and Simple card to show just how thankful I am...for whatever it is at the time.  No need for anything monumental to occur, sometimes a simple "Thanks for Being You" can change someone's day. This happy and bright card just makes you want to smile!
See that cute little yellow flower? The yellow base is the back side of the stamp. I put it on the block backwards and stamped...oops! But in the end, a happy accident...flip it over and stamp the outline (actual stamp) in another color.

Such a fun card to make! Another Sweet & Simple design. I used stamps by The Stamps of Life.  I used all the stamps with "thanks" from several different sets.
This flower makes me happy!  Love how it turned out!!! I stamped the large flower 3 times and the small flower once on patterned paper and cut them all out.  Leave the base flower flat, fold the petals on the next large flower, curl the petals on the top large flower and adhere using pop dots for great dimension. Fold the small flower petals and adhere with another pop dot. Finish with felt flower, Stickles and a rhinestone for bling!

So go ahead and make someone's day today...get out your toys and play!  ScrapCraft a Sweet & Simple card to say "Thanks!"

April Showers...

April Showers of creativity that is! I am excited for spring to be here and to see all the beautiful flowers and fresh green grass. I love to see the buds springing to life a little more each day. My surroundings inspire my creative spirit to break free and play!  Here is a project I just created this past week...

Who says money doesn't grow on trees?  Every flower center has a dollar bill attached!
This is a teaser photo I posted on my Facebook page
A pretty butterfly to accent the base
One of the several ways I folded the money
I decided to decorate the base with more little flowers and rub-ons for the name of the Birthday Girl
Of course I needed a card to go along with the tree...another sweet and simple card!

This was a super fun project and now I want to make more of these sweet little money trees! These would be perfect for any celebration and a twist on just giving cash or a gift card in an envelope.  These blooms represent a great start to my spring projects...I wonder what will inspire me next?  Come on back and find out soon.

Happy ScrapCrafting!

Super Sweet and Simple Cards

I love to create projects that are sweet and simple!  Take a look at these cards...

All cards are created using the exact same materials. Notice how the orientation of the cards change as well as the layout.

See the cute little yellow flower?  TIP: Purchase a silk flower sprig from your local craft store (on sale, of course) and remove all the flowers from the stems!

This is the same orientation as the first card but I changed the layout of the pieces.
These are super easy cards to create. This is a perfect way to make a fun set of cards in a jiffy. Just prepare all your pieces at one time and then sit down and let your creative spirit soar! See what you can Scrapcraft using this technique.  Be sure and share what you create.

So come on and get Scrapcrafting!

What is ScrapCrafting?

My very first post! I thought I should take a minute to share what ScrapCrafting is to me. Plain and simple, it is the combination of my love of scrapbooking and papercrafting all rolled into one.  The best of both worlds! I enjoy creating a variety of projects...from mini albums to party fay-vors and whatever else tugs at my creative soul. This is sure to be an interesting journey and I am excited to jump right in.
So, what will you ScrapCraft today?
